OGDENSBURG – A holiday gala themed “Cabin the Woods” will be held Dec. 14 from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Frederic Remington Museum, 303 Washington St.
Entertainment will include live music from Double Axel with Lester Gates on the keyboard, a silent auction, raffles, and photography.
Silent auction donations include a wooden carving “King Penguin and Baby”, which was made by Dick Hollis and is made of basswood with acrylic paint and oil paint for shading.
Jimmy Howard, goalie for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team, has donated a signed hockey jersey with his number 35 on it, with a signed value of $750. Howard will wear this same type of jersey during the NHL’s Winter Classic. The donation also comes with a cap and also signed on the "bill" by Jimmy and is valued at $90.
John Miller III donated a paddle titled “Cabin in the Woods” to fit the theme of the gala. Miller not only does the delicate paint work on the paddle, but he cuts the maple wood to make into paddles.
There will also be food and a cash bar.
The cost is $60 each for museum members and $65 for non-members.
Tickets are discounted $5 with advance payment by calling 393-2425.
