OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum is hosting a "Tai Chi. Tie Dye. Taste" event at the Dobisky Visitors’ Center on Friday, Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The museum says it is a “ladies only” night that includes art materials, wine tasting, refreshments and an introductory tai chi class.
Cost is $25 if prepaid online or by calling 393-2425. The price includes a white shirt, wine tasting and light snacks. The cost is $20 for those bringing their own shirt or paying at the door. Shirts can only be guaranteed to those who prepay. Space is limited to 30.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with an instructor from North Country Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a series of actions that the museum says are designed calm the mind and heal bodily imbalances. This is an introductory class for beginners but all levels of experience are welcome.
At 7 p.m., River Myst Winery will give a wine tasting demonstration. Wine will also be sold by the bottle and glass. Light refreshments will be served.
At 7:30, p.m. Kayli Harradine, education specialist from the Frederic Remington Art Museum will lead the group with some easy-to-do tie-dye patterns.
