MALONE -- The Franklin County Fair will be Aug. 3 to 11 this year, with highlights to include a demolition derby, tractor pulls, “hell drivers,” talent show, hall of fame musicians, a rodeo, and several livestock shows.
Country music star Vince Gill will perform Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Gill has sold more than 26 million albums, bringing home 18 Country Music Awards and 20 Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
The Little River Band will hold a concert Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The band has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, with a top 10 hits for six consecutive years. The group has been inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.
Demolition derbies will be Aug. 3 at 5 p.m., with a figure 8 at 3 p.m., and Aug. 5 at 6 p.m.
The truck and tractor pulls will be Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. A “street legal” truck pull, antique tractor pull, and “enhanced” tractor pull will be Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.
Tony Petersen’s “Hell Drivers” will perform Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. with crashes, two-wheel driving, and stunt driving.
The Franklin County talent show will be Aug. 8 at 7 p.m., with the hometown parade at 6 p.m. A total of 18 acts will perform.
The “Painted Pony Rodeo” will be Aug. 11 at 4 p.m.
Livestock of all kinds will be on display, including horses, cattle, goats, and poultry. Farm produce will also be displayed. Multiple live stock shows will also be offered throughout the week.
Tickets will be $10 Aug. 3 to Aug. 8 and Aug. 11 and $15 Aug. 9 and 10. Season tickets will be $50 and parking will be $5. Kids under age 12 will attend free.
Track seats for the Vince Gill concert will be $20 and $15 for the Little River Band.
