POTSDAM -- Four Photographers, a group exhibit of photographs by four different local photographers, opens Friday, Oct. 20, from 5-7 p.m. at the SLC Arts Gallery at Town Hall. During this meet-and-greet event with the photographers, the Rustic Riders will perform live from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The four photographers featured in this exhibit are Yvona Fast, Thomas Robarge Jr., Beverly Patchin, and Jeanna Matthews:

Yvona Fast is a poet, writer and photographer residing in Lake Clear in Franklin County. She enjoys combining poetry with digital nature photos from the Adirondack region; her website is www.wordsaremyworld.com.

In addition to his love of photography, Thomas Robarge Jr. of Ogdensburg also creates abstract acrylic paintings. His business name is The Artist Eye.

Beverly Patchin of Lisbon owns Bluebird Gallery in Lisbon as well as a frame shop at The Gallery in Waddington. She considers herself first and foremost a nature photographer, and has been a devoted “camera bug” since her early teen years.

Jeanna Matthews of Massena, considers herself to be “an observer, as a photographer, a poet, a traveler, a dancer, a writer, a teacher and a researcher.” In addition to her skills as an artist, she is a professor of computer science at Clarkson University. Due to travel abroad, Matthews will be unable to attend the Oct. 20 event, but she has scheduled a lecture for a future date.

This event is free and open to everyone, and wheelchair accessible. Visitors are encouraged to drop in any time during the two-hour event. Art sales benefit the artists and SLC Arts.

The exhibit will be on display at the SLC Arts Gallery at the Potsdam Town Hall, 18 Elm St., through Dec. 6.

The Gallery is open during Town Hall business hours, Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
