OGDENSBURG -- Sunday, July 22 has been declared children’s day at Founder’s Day Weekend re-enactment and colonial trade on Ogdensburg’s Lighthouse Point. There will be no admission charge for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.
Activities for the kids include a children’s military muster and drill at 11:30 in the morning and a special children’s program by Native-American storyteller James Bruchac at 2:00 in the afternoon.
Other scheduled activities include wooden boats battling on the river at 10:30 in the morning and an old-fashioned land battle at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Look for the merchants from the 1700s selling everything from hand-cranked ice cream and rock candy and from leather goods to ironware. Don’t miss the colonial trades and crafts.
So kids, bring your parents to Founder’s Day Weekend on Sunday, July 22 and if you’re under 12, you’ll get in free.
