POTSDAM — There will be a forage production meeting for farmers on Feb. 6 from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Potsdam Elks Lodge, 10 Elm St.

The meeting will feature educational talks by representatives from King’s AgriSeeds and Barenburg USA, covering such topics as advances in forage grasses, no-till cropping, King Fisher Seed Brand research highlights, seed treatments and trait packages, and summer annual productions.

McMahon’s Natural Products will conduct a seed and gift giveaway for guests and “meeting day” discounts on all crop seeds. Lunch will be provided.

King’s AgriSeeds, a Lancaster, Penn.-based farm seed company, is increasing its presence as a supplier of high-quality seed products in the area. Local seedsman Patrick McMahon of Winthrop is an authorized dealer in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties offering Masters Choice corn hybrids, the new King Fisher brand line up, Barenburg grass products, Alta sorghum products and King’s own custom grass mixes.

“Farmers are realizing the right grasses harvested correctly are just as valuable feedstuffs as corn is for dairy cows,” said McMahon. “There is also an increasing awareness of the need for renewing cropland and rotating/renovating pastures. High quality products help the farmer produce high quality feeds and in turn, high quality production.”

To reserve a seat, contact King’s AgriSeeds at 717-687-6224 or McMahon at 315-328-5808.
