POTSDAM -- The American Red Cross of Northern New York is offering Standard First Aid training Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Red Cross office at 73 Market St.
This course will teach individuals how to identify and respond to emergency situations by checking to see if it is safe to intervene. Attendees will learn how to reduce the risk of injury, obtain knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives.
The fee for Standard First Aid is $35, which includes the manual. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required by Thursday, Sept. 30. Instructor is Lorraine Lewis.
