Fireworks, mechanical bull, train rides, live music in Lisbon Aug. 16-18

LISBON -- The Lisbon Homecoming Committee annual fun weekend will be Aug. 16 to Aug. 18 in the town center, with fireworks, a mechanical bull and live music planned.

Events will take place at the fireman’s field, unless otherwise specified.

Friday’s events will include “Depot Days” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lisbon Depot Museum with museum tours, face painting, and train rides. The American Legion will serve a pulled pork supper at 4 p.m.

The mechanical bull will return Friday at 8 p.m., with DragonFly to perform from 8 to 11 p.m.

Seaway Valley Inflatables will entertain at the train station Friday and Saturday at the firemen’s field.

Saturday events will include breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, followed by a quilt show at 8 a.m.

Registration for Saturday’s 5k run will begin at 7:45 a.m.

The American Legion will host a craft and vendor show, along with a bake sale, at 9 a.m.

Other Saturday highlights will include a book sale at the library, community wide garage sales, and a special dedication at the museum at 10 a.m.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lisbon Central School, followed by a dedication of the Lisbon Health Center.

A chicken barbeque will be held at the Lisbon Fire Station at noon. An ice cream social will be held at 4 p.m. at White Church.

The Charlton Brothers will perform from 7 to 9:30 p.m., followed by fireworks.

Sunday events will include a youth triathlon at Lisbon Beach, with noon registration. Kids ages five to 14 will swim, bike, and run.

The Lisbon Depot Museum offer miniature train rides with Ken Friedel, a bouncy house, photos in the Rutland Railroad Track speeder, face painting, food concessions, ice cream, and train engine exploration.
