CANTON -- Traditional North Country fiddler Don Woodcock and Adirondack storyteller and folk singer Bill Smith will play together at the TAUNY Center, East Main Street, on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.
Smith, a 1995 TAUNY Heritage Award winner, learned tales of Adirondack woodsmen from his father, and the popular songs of an earlier era from his mother. His stories are inspired by his years as a woodsman and guide.
Woodcock has been playing fiddle for more than six decades. He is a Grand Champion Fiddler of New York State and a 1997 TAUNY Heritage Award winner known for his tremendous skill and extensive traditional repertoire.
Light refreshments will be provided, and a suggested donation of $10 to $15 at the door will support TAUNY's programs.
