POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s fibromyalgia support group will meet Tuesday, March 1, from noon to 1 p.m., at 59 Main Street, room 2003, Clarkson Hall. This month’s topic will be “Different Types of Pain – Not All Pain is the Same.”

There are several different types of pain, including musculoskeletal, peripheral neurogenic (peripheral nerve), central neurogenic (central nervous system), autonomic (affecting organs), and chronic pain (which includes changes in the brain due to pain).

Recognizing pain type can lead to better pain management.

The group is held under the direction of Dr. Leslie Russek, associate professor in Clarkson University’s Physical Therapy Department and physical therapist specializing in chronic pain management at CPH. All are welcome.
