Several farmers' markets from around St. Lawrence County are scheduled to open for the spring season including in Potsdam where a celebration with live music will be held Saturday, May 9.
The Potsdam Farmers' Market opens for its outdoor season Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. behind the municipal lot near Ives Park.
There will be live music on opening day, including performances by two SUNY Potsdam a cappella groups at noon.
The market will be open each Saturday though Oct. 31 offering in-season produce, meats, eggs, herbs, flowers and plants, maple syrup, honey, fresh baked goods, wine, natural bath and body products, jewelry, artwork and more.
In Canton, opening day is slated for May 8 and runs through Oct. 30. The market will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the village green.
The DeKalb market will offer fresh fruits, veggies and more beginning May 20. Each Wednesday the market will be open from 1 until 6 p.m. at the Junction Building Supply parking lot.
The Ogdensburg Green Market will host two locations this year. On May 14, the market kicks off at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in the cafeteria. They will offer hours from 1 to 4 p.m. each Thursday at this location through Sept. 24.
A second location, in the Lowes parking lot, 2001 Ford St. Ext.; will open May 16 through Sept. 26 on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Gouverneur farmer's market will open June 4 at the village green with hours of 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. each Saturday though Oct. 22.
In Norwood, the market will be offered on Mondays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., from July 6 through Oct. 26 in the park.
Hammond will open July 8 at the museum with hours of 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sept. 30.
The farmer's market in Massena will be held in the Triple A Building Supply parking lot from July 9 through Oct. 29 on Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
