Farmers’ market coupons for senior citizens are now available through the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging.

Through Nov. 15, low-income-eligible seniors age 60 and over may use the coupons to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables from local farmers' markets.

Office for the Aging have begun distributing coupon booklets in their office, and continue distribution until late July. Other distribution sites and dates are listed below.

Booklets will also be available at the Senior Picnic on July 8 at the St. Lawrence County Power and Equipment Museum in Madrid.

Booklets must be picked up in person, and cannot be mailed and may not be picked up by proxies.

One coupon booklet will be issued to all eligible seniors in a household, regardless of how many seniors comprise the household. Booklets will be issued until the supply is depleted.

Income-eligible people will either be receiving or eligible to receive SSI, public assistance, or Section 8 housing subsidy, or have a monthly income of no more than $1,831 in a one-person household; $2,469 in a two-person household; $3,108 in a three-person household.

• Potsdam, Midtown Apartments, 1 Munson St., Tuesday, June 28, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Star Lake, Meal Center, Clifton-Fine Community Center, Wednesday, June 29, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Edwards, Meal Center, Senior Courts, 16 Trout Lake St., Thursday, June 30, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Ogdensburg, Centennial Terrace, Washington St., Wednesday, July 6, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Madrid, Senior Picnic, SLC Power & Equipment Museum, Friday, July 8, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
