POTSDAM -- Community Performance Series is bringing John Tartaglia's "ImaginOcean" to the Snell Music Theater on the SUNY Potsdam campus for a Meet the Arts Series event on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 3 p.m., in addition to two sold-out education outreach performances on Monday, Jan. 9.
Prior to the Sunday public performance, CPS will offer a puppet-making workshop with Hilary Oak of the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Tickets for the workshop are $5 for youth and can be purchased by calling the CPS Box Office at 267-2277.
"ImaginOcean" is a family-friendly puppet musical chock-full of special effects, including black lights, bubbles and more. The show follows fish friends Tank, Bubbles and Dorsel on their adventure while they sing and dance to original music in R&B, big band and swing styles.
Conceptualized by Tony-Award nominee John Tartaglia, "ImaginOcean" closed its 18-month off-Broadway run in September 2011 to begin a national tour this past October. Tartaglia is best known as the executive producer, creator and star of Disney Channel's eight-time Emmy-nominated "Johnny and the Sprites."
Tickets for "ImaginOcean" are $5 for youth and $10 for adults and can be purchased online at www.cpspotsdam.org or by phone at 267-2277, or in person at the CPS Box Office, located in the lobby of Snell Theater on the SUNY Potsdam campus, or at Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam.
