OGDENSBURG -- The Department of Public Works plans to start fall yard waste cleanup in conjunction with the final 3rd Ward scheduled pickup of the season on Oct. 27. Fall cleanup will run daily through Nov. 26 and the last day to put acceptable materials out will be Nov. 23. Once an area is completed, they will not to return to that area. Weather, such as snow, will be taken into consideration.
Acceptable materials:
• Leaves
• Grass clippings
• Limbs & small trees – must be cut up into sections less than 6 foot in length, and limbs or tree trunks must be less than 6 inches in diameter
• Small branches, sticks and twigs – should be cut into manageable sizes
• Brush
The city will not pick up:
• Debris from tree removal or land clearing – performed by home owner or contractor
• Oversized limbs & trees – greater than 6 inches in diameter
• Pet waste
• Construction & demolition debris – this includes lumber, pallets, rock, stone, bricks, concrete and any other building materials or supplies
• Absolutely no bags or containers of any kind.
