CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold its local spring beef week meeting in Canton at the Extension Learning Farm, 2043B State Highway 68, Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
Mike Baker, Cornell University, will be here to talk about strategies to get your calves to 700 pounds to meet buyers’ expectations.
Cattle feeders are looking for cattle 700-800 pounds to put on feed.
Most of the calves raised in the North Country are sold at about 500 pounds.
Join us to look at the costs and methods of putting another 200 pounds on your calves before you sell them.
The cost is $5 at the door.
Register if possible with the Extension Office at 315-379-9192, or email Betsy Hodge at bmf9@cornell.edu.
