POTSDAM -- “Threaded” opens Friday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery. This solo exhibit features mixed media by Ola Aldous of DeKalb Junction.
The show was inspired by Aldous' experience at the Vermont Studio Center, where she began to play with a variety of materials. She is interested in using traditional materials along with objects found in our daily lives.
Aldous is a Ukrainian-American who trained as a classical pianist, and holds a Bachelor of Music from the Crane School of Music. In 2013, she graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting.
“Threaded” will be on display at the SLC Arts Gallery at the Potsdam Town Hall, 18 Elm Street, through Oct. 7.
The exhibit and opening are free and open to the public, and wheelchair accessible. The gallery is open during Town Hall business hours, Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
