CANTON -- Put on your finest duds and join in the “English Country Dance” Dec. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the main room of Eben Holden on the St. Lawrence University Campus.
No experience is necessary to enjoy the social folk dance. The program is part of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association’s Commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.
The St. Lawrence English Country Dance group and an English Dance group from Spencerville, Ontario will demonstrate dances and invite the audience to participate.
George Cherepon will call all dances and give brief historical backgrounds to them.
The members of the St. Lawrence and Spencerville English Dance Groups will be dressed in Regency Period clothing.
