POTSDAM -- Emergency responders, students and the community are invited to attend a screening and discussion of the documentary “After the Fire” with Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons on Oct. 7 at Clarkson University.
There will be two sessions offered, one from noon to 1 p.m. in the Cheel Campus Center Barben Rooms and one from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center.
This film was inspired by the true story of Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons surviving a dormitory fire at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., in January 2000, when they were freshman students. In that tragic arson fire, three students died and 58 others were injured. Alvaro and Shawn were two of the most severely burned survivors.
The “After the Fire” presentation covers topics that affect many campuses in our nation, including the consequences of pranks.
