MASSENA – A prescription drug take-back day will be held Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the community center’s multi-purpose room and the village police station lobby.
Several similar events are scheduled for Saturday at other locations around St. Lawrence County.
The Massena take-back, organized by the Massena Drug Free Community Coalition, will allow residents here the option to safely dispose of old or unused prescription medication.
All drop-offs are anonymous, and residents are asked to remove any identifying information from the bottles or packaging.
Syringes and liquids will not be accepted.
For more information, call 315-764-3700, ext. 3621, or email kcolarusso-martin@svpc.net.
In addition to the coalition take-back in Massena, Kinney Drugs is hosting four local Drug Take-Back Day events at St. Lawrence County store locations Saturday, also from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The stores in Canton at 40 State Highway 30; Gouverneur, 17 Clinton St.; Ogdensburg, 700 Canton St.; and Potsdam, 48 Maple St. will accept drugs for disposal.
Customers can bring in unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications, including controlled substances, to the pharmacy for them to be disposed in a safe manner.
All events are free and open to the public.
