POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will offer several upcoming classes in painting, drawing and creative movement at the Downtown Snell Hall location, 41 Elm St.
Observational Painting with Ola Aldous will run from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8 and Wednesday, Aug. 10. The class will explore artists and techniques based on exploring, painting and sketching in an outdoor environment. The cost is $68 for members and $78 for non-members.
The next installment of Drawing Skills, on ongoing series with Liza LaBarge will meet on Monday, Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. The session will focus on gesture drawing with a clothed model. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members and open to ages 18 and up of beginner and intermediate level. Pre-registration is required.
David Crowell leads the Fins & Feathers watercolor painting class on Tuesday, Aug. 9 through Thursday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon. No prior painting experience is required and participants are encouraged to bring reference photos of birds and fish to paint. The cost is $57 for members and $72 for non-members.
Creative Movements with Heather Knack introduces children ages two through five to the world of dance through children’s songs and nonstop movement on Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 10-10:30 a.m. The cost is $30 for members and $36 for non-members. Classes will continue every Tuesday through Sept. 13.
