MASSENA -- A community meeting will be held Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. at Massena Town Hall, 60 Main St., to learn about the draft revitalization plan for the Massena Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA). The area encompasses the former GM Massena site.
The forum will include:
• An overview of the proposed redevelopment strategy;
• A review of recommended near-term actions identified in the Plan; and
• Opportunities to provide feedback on the vision and redevelopment strategy.

Written comments may be submitted to the county planning office, 49 1/2 Court St., Canton, or via e-mail to Heidi Ames, project coordinator, at hames@stlawco.org. Written comments will be received until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
St. Lawrence County and the Town of Massena were awarded a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant from the New York Department of State to develop a revitalization plan for the Massena BOA study area.
The Project Steering Committee includes representatives of St. Lawrence County, the Town of Massena, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, the Business Development Corporation for a Greater Massena, the St. Lawrence County IDA and RACER Trust.
