POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will host an upcoming concert by The Dotys, a classical and crossover string duo comprised of faculty member Liesl Schoenberger Doty (violin) and her husband, Karl Doty (bass).
The concert will be offered Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.
The Dotys will present works from the traditional folk repertoire, as well as some original tunes during the recital.
The performance comes on the heels of the couple's recent GRAMMY Award nomination, as members of the innovative string orchestra, A Far Cry.
A Far Cry's latest album, "Visions and Variations," was nominated for two awards in the 61st annual GRAMMYs, in the categories for best chamber music/small ensemble performance, and best engineered album, classical.
Liesl Schoenberger Doty is an assistant professor of violin at The Crane School of Music, and Karl Doty is a lecturer on double bass and bass guitar at Dartmouth College.
This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
This concert will be broadcast live on the Crane School of Music YouTube channel at the performance time.
