POTSDAM -- Donations are sought by the First Presbyterian Church, 42 Elm St., for a project in which the Knitting Group of Clarkson University are making baby blankets and sweaters for newborns to children two years old.
The items will be sent to the Muzuzu Crisis Nursery in Malawi, Africa. The nursery cares for babies up to age two who are unable to be cared for by their families due to death or illness.
Formula, food, health care and supplies are needed; including sweaters and blankets. Those willing to donate washable yarn or a completed piece can do so at the office of Mayfield Apartments, the office of Midtown Apartments and at Misty Hollow during regular hours.
Leftover skeins from knitting projects are welcome. Collections will continue through March 31.
