OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is hosting the diabetes prevention program (DPP) starting Monday, Sept. 11, with two sessions -- one from 11:30 a.m. to noon, or a 4-4:30 p.m. session.
Both sessions will be held in conference room C, on the first floor of the center.
Participants can call 315-713-5251 for more information and to register.
The DPP is a free, 16-week, lifestyle modification program created by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and is open to adults diagnosed with pre-diabetes, or those that are considered at high risk for pre-diabetes.
The DPP meets once a week for a half hour to provide information, support and encouragement in making small changes that can make a big difference in long term health.
Free materials will be provided to all participants.
Karen Cole, Shannon VanHouse, and Michele Catlin, all trained wellness coaches for the DPP, will facilitate the classes.
