OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is hosting a free juvenile diabetes family group meeting at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Children’s Place, next to the Frederic Remington Museum, Washington Street.
The hospital says that when a child is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, the entire family is affected. After the shock of the diagnosis subsides, a family will be adapting to life with diabetes. With proper planning and preparation, day to day activities can still be normal.
Sharing your concerns, struggles and achievements with others can be rewarding and helpful. If you are interested in meeting with other families who have a child with juvenile diabetes, you may join this open forum.
There will be activities available for the students. You do not need to register to attend.
If you have questions, or would like more information, call Karen Cole at 713-5181 or Ellen Seidman at 393-3232.
