DEPEYSTER -- The DePeyster Festival is set for Aug. 1 to 3 and is to feature a parade, a car derby, contests, live music and food.
Opening ceremonies will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 1. Tom Love and Friends will perform at 5:30 p.m. and Starlights will entertain from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be ongoing food concession and a strawberry ice cream social.
Saturday will start with a baby contest and car derby from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The frog jumping contest will run from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with a parade following at noon. Julie's Dance Studio will then take the stage from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m. The nail driving and cross cut saw contests will go from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with a cake walk following at 3:30 p.m. At 4 p.m., a chicken barbeque will be offered and Wesley and Clover Gleason will perform. Pure Country will take the stage from 5 to 8 p.m. Boon, a jazz rock group from Pennsylvania will play from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
Sunday will feature a 10:30 a.m. "Old Home Day Service" at DePeyster United Methodist Church followed by a covered dish dinner.
