DEPEYSTER – The DePeyster Festival, with a baby contest, frog jumping contest, a parade, live music and a chicken barbecue, is set for Aug. 1 in the park.
The festival, sponsored by the First Methodist Church, has events beginning at 9:30 a.m.:
• 9:30-10, baby contest, car derby
• 9:30, Games begin
• 10:30-11 a.m., frog jumping contest (bring own frog)
• Noon, parade
• 12:45 - 1:30 p.m., face painting ($2)
• 1:30-3:30, nail driving and crosscut saw contests (18 or older for saw)
• 2 p.m., old fashioned games ($1)
• 3:30, cake walk (50¢ per walk)
• 4-8 p.m., live music with Pure Country
• 4 p.m., chicken BBQ.
All day there will be concessions, vendors, a silent auction, 50/50 and other games.
