DEKALB -- The Town of DeKalb has scheduled free roadside pickup of home trash for town residents living north of U.S. Rt. 11 from May 29 to 31.
The DeKalb Town Highway Department will pickup trash, appliances, old furniture, metals, up to two tires, scrap lumber (no nails), dried-up paint cans, etc. Not accepted are household garbage, hazardous materials (including chemicals and paint cans with liquid paint in them), electronics that have been torn apart, brush and leaves, and large quantities of construction debris.
Items are to be placed at the side of the road by 6:30 a.m. May 29. The town crew will make just one pass on each road and will not return for items not there in time. Roadside pickup for residents living on the south side of Rt. 11 will be Oct. 1 through 4.
