CANTON -- NYSDEC hosts a “New York Deer Management Update” at SUNY Canton Wicks Hall 102 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 12.
The event is intended to inform hunters and the public about issues in deer management.
It will also set the stage for updating DEC's Management Plan for White-tailed Deer in New York State.
DEC will provide an overview of the deer management program, outline progress on the current deer program including a brief explanation of DEC's recent decision to encourage hunters to voluntarily pass up young bucks, and other issues.
