LOUISVILLE -- The DEC will have their goose drive June 30 at 8 a.m. at Wilson Hill.
Canoes and kayaks will depart from the WMA building at 8 a.m.
Geese will be collected and processed at the banding site at 11:30 a.m.
“The goose drive is an opportunity for NYSDEC to gather biological data on geese which is then used to drive management decisions through the fall hunting season. Goose drives provide members of the public a hands on experience with banding birds in a safe and controlled environment,” the department said in a news release. “DEC has been banding geese at Wilson Hill for more than 50 years, collecting vital information on thousands of birds that have been banded at this site.”
