PARISHVILLE -- The Nihanawate Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will meet May 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery on the Russell Turnpike.
They will recognize daughters of John A. Hibbard, a Revolutionary War Soldier.
Markers on the graves of Parna Hibbard Bicknell and Achsa Hibbard Spear will be unveiled with a grave marker ceremony for each of these daughters.
DAR Member, Martha Maine will play the bagpipes as a part of each ceremony.
Following the ceremony, members and guests can visit the Parishville Town Hall for dessert.
The Chapter Meeting will follow at the town hall. Parna Hibbard Bicknell and Achsa Hibbard Spear are ancestors of many area families including Bicknells, Spears, Smiths, Mardens, Weems, Irishs, Thomas, and Phillips.
