CANTON -- Two local Daughters of the American Revolution chapters hosted a booth at the recent Seniorama sponsored by New York State Wide Senior Action Council’s North Country Chapter and hosted by SUNY Canton.
Sister Chapters Nihanawate and Swe-kat-si participated in the annual event, which was attended by seniors from across the county for a day was filled with chatting, awarding door prizes, listening to live music and performances.
After the opening ceremony, there was a steady stream of visitors, according to a recounting my the local DAR members.
Over 60 organizations had information from local hospitals, banks, county agencies, nursing homes, insurance companies, non-profit groups, Hospice, political candidates, senior clubs, public utilities, businesses, and the DAR had a display.
DAR says they plan on participating next year, when Seniorama is set for Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015.
It is free to the public and a fun day.
