POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will offer dance, Zumba and yoga classes for teens and adults starting in June.
All classes are held in Clarkson University’s downtown Snell Hall. To register or for more information, call 265-6860 or visit www.slcartscouncil.org.
The classes include:
• Musical Theatre Dance for Teens and Adults, with Devon Butler, Tuesdays, June 28 – Aug. 23, 5:30 – 7 p.m.; focus on the basics of theatre dance, including movement for the stage, how dance tells a story and important fundamental theatre techniques; students to work on dance routine set to Broadway music; $100 for nine weeks.
• Zumba for Ages 13 to Adult, with Devon Butler, Mondays, June 27 – Aug. 22, 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.; an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party bring clean sneakers and wear comfortable clothing; $68 for nine weeks, or $10 per class.
• Intro to Ballet, Lyrical and Jazz Dance, with Devon Butler, Wednesdays, June 29 – Aug. 24, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.; hair should be worn pulled back, wear easy-to-move-in clothing; $85 for nine weeks.
• Managing Stress through Yoga, with Monique Christensen, Saturdays June 4 – July 9, 9 - 10:30 a.m.; increase balance, flexibility, stamina, strength and mental focus, relieves stress and relax; find inner peace with improved outer appearance; bring yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes; $69 for six weeks, or $12 per class.
