POTSDAM – Young adults can explore creative expression at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council with interactive performing arts classes this summer.
All classes are held at Downtown Snell Hall. Contact the council to register and pre-pay for classes at 265-6860 or www.slcartscouncil.org.
• Step n'Rhythm with Hailey Hodge - Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 5-Aug. 4, 4-5 p.m. Ages 13 and up. This high energy class explores interlocking beats and rhythms without music, but through the use of hands and feet. No prior dance experience needed. $80 for 10 classes.
• Writing 10-Minute Plays with Craig Thornton - Saturday, July 9, 1-4 p.m. Ages 13-18. Intensive workshop for students who want to learn playwriting structure and acquire skills to complete their own ten minute play. This workshop is open to writers of all levels. $28.
• Beginning Tin Whistle for Teens & Adults with Kelly Francom - Mondays, July 11, 18 & 25, 6:15-7:15 p.m. Affordable and portable, express yourself whenever the muse strikes. Teens & adults will learn to read music and play traditional Irish tunes. $30 + $20 materials fee.
