POTSDAM -- The Crane Opera Ensemble will present "The Impresario" and "Il Signor Bruschino" in April.
The award-winning ensemble will present the two single-act operas Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Snell Music Theater, SUNY Potsdam.
"The Impresario," by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be staged as a behind-the-scenes look at the problems that plague a North Country opera company as it attempts to cast and finance an opera. "Il Signor Bruschino," by Gioachino Rossini will be the actual opera the company performs.
Ben Spierman of the Bronx Opera will direct the production. Professor François Germain will be the music director.
Trevor Maynard, St. Lawrence University alumnus, will be the guest lighting designer.
Alexis Foster will be the costume designer and Katherine Yip will be the production stage manager.
