POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will perform a Crane Faculty Showcase concert on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The Potsdam Brass Quintet will open with a rendition of Kevin McKee's 2007 work, "Vuelta del Fuego." The quintet includes faculty members Randolph Lee and James Madeja on trumpet, Kelly Drifmeyer on horn, Charles Hopkins on trombone and Charles Guy on tuba.

Bassoonist Carol Lowe and pianist François Germain will then take the stage for a work by Eugene Bossa. Immediately following, Germain will accompany soprano Samantha Stinson and baritone Jonathan Stinson in a duet from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro."

Jerod Sommerfeldt, an assistant professor of music theory, composition and electronic music, will present his 2013 work, "Crystalline." Douglas Rubio will perform two works for classical guitar by Joaquin Turina, including "Fandanguillo" and "Sevillana."

Julianne Kirk Doyle, clarinet, will present "Introduction and Rondo, Op. 72," by Charles-Marie Widor, accompanied by Crane School of Music Dean Michael Sitton on piano.

The showcase will conclude with a performance of "Tanzen Möcht Ich" ("I Want to Dance") from Imre Kálmán's 1915 operetta, "Die Csárdásfürstin." Soprano Deborah Massell and tenor Donald George will sing alongside Mackensie Hoffman on violin and Germain on piano.

This concert will be broadcast live on the SUNY Potsdam website at the performance time. To view the program and see other upcoming streaming performances, visit www.potsdam.edu/academics/Crane/streaming.
