CRANBERRY LAKE – The “First Strike” Cranberry Lake Ice Fishing Derby is expected to have 10 to 14 inches of ice and up to $10,000 in prizes Saturday, Jan. 25.
In the adult category, up to $800 per hour in prize money will be awarded. In addition to cash prizes, dozens of door prizes will be awarded.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first through fifth place for the children’s (12 and under) perch derby. Every child who enters will receive a prize.
Known for its legendary fishing, Cranberry Lake is the third-largest lake in the Adirondacks and one of the most popular fishing destinations. The tournament started in 2010.
Entry fees are $30 for adults, and $10 for the children’s perch derby.
