OGDENSBURG -- Country music radio station 95.3 The Wolf is looking for singers to compete in a contest that is the first round of a national contest with the overall winner getting a chance to sing in Nashville for a $100,000 top prize.
The Country Showdown kicks off in Madrid at the Ole Smokehouse on Saturday, June 27.
There will also be opportunities to sing at the Potsdam Summer Festival on July 9 and the Ogdensburg Seaway Festival on July 24.
The local finals will be at the St. Lawrence County Fair, Gouverneur on July 29.
The winner then moves on to a regional competition
The winners there move on to Nashville to compete for a $100,000 top prize.
Singers can use their own band, pre-recorded music or sing acapella in this step of the competition.
