CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension's St. Lawrence County office will participate in the organization's NNY Fall Beef Week program.
Farmers attending the combined classroom and on-farm cattle chuteside Beef Quality Assurance and BQA training will earn the certification that raises consumer confidence in farms following BQA best management practices for beef cattle production, CCE said.
The certification is good for three years.
The workshop will focus on raising stocker and backgrounder cattle, or young cattle purchased from cow-calf producers and economically grown out on pastureland or forages in preparation for finishing in feedlots.
