CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County will host a meeting of the North Country Shepherds featuring fiber products.

Knitters, felters, weavers, and spinners are invited show them off their skills Feb. 1 at the Extension Learning Farm from 10 a.m. - noon.

The program will be a show and tell style format.

Many local farmers raise sheep for wool, goats for mohair, llamas and alpacas for hair, and rabbits for angora.

The fibers can be sold directly or washed, dyed, spun, woven, knitted, etc. Some are sold locally at craft fairs and farmer’s markets.

There will be a table for swapping unwanted or excess fiber as well.

For more information and to register call Betsy Hodge at 315-379-9192 or email at bmf9@cornell.edu. Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County provides equal program and employment opportunities.
