The tour begins at 5:30 p.m. at Joe Eisele’s Northern Limits Farm, 6900 County Route 27. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m. at The Club, 25 Court St. The Canton Animal Clinic and Merck are sponsoring the free dinner. Primrose of Conquest Cattle Feeders, LLC, a beef finishing operation in Cato, will talk about developing stocker-backgrounder beef operations from a feeder’s perspective.
Primrose purchases feeder calves from farms in Northern New York and grows them out to market size.
Primrose also grows corn and soybeans, built a new cattle-handling facility and bedded pack barn in 2011 and makes efficient use of pasturing his animals.
He will also share his outlook for the future beef market. Register: 379-9192 orbmf9@cornell.edu.
