POTSDAM—The public is invited to a community hymn sing at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, on the lawn of the Potsdam United Methodist Church, 26 Main St.
The church is offering this musical "First Saturday" event to help welcome new and returning students and community members to Potsdam, but the hymn sing is open to all. Please bring your favorite instrument.
At noon and 3 p.m. on Sept. 1, Potsdam UMC pastor Rev. James E. Barnes II will give tours of the historic 1903 church. Built of Gouverneur marble, the church has more than 40 stained glass windows crafted by Harry Horwood of Ogdensburg. Horwood windows are in churches all over the North Country. Visitors are also invited to see the church's history room. For more information call 265-7474.
