COLTON — The 2018 Summer Music Series of Colton Riverside Performances, featuring a variety of performers from along the Raquette River, includes the following five performances this year.
The schedule is as follows: June 27, Double Axel; July 18, Acapella North Chorus; Aug. 1., Duo Mary Ann Casale & Kevin Irwin ; Aug. 15, The Great South Woods String Band; Aug. 29, Potsdam Brass Quintet.
The Double Axel performance is scheduled to take place at the Gazebo on Main Street in Colton. The backup rain location is Colton-Pierrepont Central School.
All performances take place on Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. in outdoor locations near the river around the hamlet of Colton unless it rains. The rain location is nearby the venue.
Audience participants need to bring their own chairs or blankets for seating unless the performance moves inside. Whether held outside or in there will be bathroom facilities available.
Food will available during each performance. The Colt’s Pride Booster Club will have grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, drinks, and other goodies available to purchase.
There is no admission fee to attend the summer.
Five barn quilts, featuring traditional and contemporary bird quilt patterns, are now on display in the Colton Hepburn Library and will be raffled off during performances. Tickets are two for $5 and only 100 tickets are available for each quilt. The first barn quilt to be raffled June 27 features a hummingbird among the lilies design. The winning ticket will be announced at the end of the performance; the winner does not have to be present to win.
