COLTON – Colton’s annual Winterfest Weekend will be celebrated Jan. 24 through 26 with new activities, old favorites, and a new passport activity for a chance to win a gift certificate.

The “Passport to Winterfest” will award participants who visit at least eight of 12 listed in the passport sheet with a free candy bar to support the Colton-Pierrepont Central School senior class trip and give entry to a gift certificate drawing.

One gift card will be awarded to a participant under 16 years old and one will be awarded to someone 17 or older.

Passport sheets will be available Friday night and all day Saturday at the school.

New attractions include a Rock-N-Skate with music and lights from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in the Pavilion at Swift Field in South Colton.

Table tennis for doubles and singles will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the school.

The newly formed Broomball League will host a mid-season tournament beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at the pavilion. The tournament is open to anyone and all supplies will be provided.

Favorite activities from the past include the health and craft fairs on Saturday in the school gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The health fair includes Operation Safe Child ID by the Sheriff’s Department as well as blood pressure, cholesterol readings and blood sugar testing. For more information about the health fair, contact Mary Long at 262-2947.

The fee for vendors is $15 per table. Vendors can contact Grace Hawley at 262-2439 to reserve space.

Each year Winterfest activities support the Neighborhood Center serving Colton, Pierrepont and Parishville.

Three Falls Antiques will host a silent auction in her shop during the weekend. Artists, crafters, collectors or others wishing to contribute items can contact Judy at 265-2566 or(mbrassa1@twcny.rr.com). Donations will be accepted until Jan. 25 at 10am.

The complete festival schedule is available at www.townofcolton.com, below the calendar under events.

The schedule provides details about all indoor activities, including the five venues for the annual quilt show and outdoor activities including foot and cross-country ski races during the weekend. For specific information, contact Scott Muller at 244-9956.
