Colton Winterfest begins Thursday with spaghetti dinner, awards; sports, food, music, dozens of events to take place through Sunday

COLTON -- “Get in Gear,” the Colton Winterfest, scheduled for Jan. 26-29, kicks off Thursday, Jan. 26 with a spaghetti dinner at Colton-Pierrepont Central School. A Citizen of the Year will be named at the dinner.

A variety of activities throughout the town will be on tap for the weekend.

All weekend:

• Silent Auction of Themed Baskets at Colton-Pierrepont Central School (benefits Neighborhood Center), kicks off Thursday during spaghetti dinner and continues at locations in school during scheduled events. For more information call Scott Muller, 244-9956;

• Open Skating in Town Pavilion at Swift Field (weather dependent) off Sugar Bush Lane (South Colton). • 4-7 p.m. All you can eat spaghetti dinner with music at CPCS cafeteria. Take-outs available. Free for children younger than 5 years; $5 for children 5-10 years of age; $8, 11 years of age and older. Citizen of the Year to be named. Live music.
