Colton Riverside Gazebo Concert series to include folk, big band, brass this summer

COLTON – The Town of Colton has received a Community Arts Grant from the St. Lawrence County Arts Council for a series of Colton Riverside Gazebo Performances during summer 2012.

The series will showcase the following musicians and singers from places in the river corridor.

• Wednesday, June 27 (6:30 p.m.) – Jamie Savage and Dave Ruch. A crowd-pleasing mix of folk, traditional and original songs on guitar, banjo, mandolin and harmonica.

• Tuesday, July 10 (6:30 p.m.) – Fat River Kings. A genre-hopping American roots band playing unique arrangements of covers and original music specializing in tight harmonies.

• Saturday, July 21 (noon) – Jack Kelley’s Little Big Band. Big band favorites and contemporary classics.

• Wednesday, July 25 (6:30 p.m.) – New Horizons Band of Northern New York. More than fifty area adults with varying musical backgrounds and experiences.

• Wednesday, August 22 (6:30 p.m.) – Riverside Brass Quintet. A wide variety of music chosen for wide audience appeal as well as high musical quality.

More details about the Colton Riverside Gazebo Performances will be posted on the town’s website (www.townofcolton.com) as summer nears.
