COLTON -- The Winterfest Planning Committee is working on a preliminary schedule for this year’s “Jazz it Up January” themed festival.
The festival will be Jan. 24 to Jan. 26, with indoor and outdoor activities, with the highlight to be a concert by Colton-Pierrepont music teacher Papadon ‘Don’ Washington following the annual spaghetti dinner.
The concert will kick off with the school’s jazz band, including some elementary students, wrapping up with songs from Washington’s newest album, “The Blues In Me.”
A silent auction will also be offered. To contribute an item for the auction, contact Judy Brassard at 265-2566 or [email protected].
A “Passport to Winterfest” will highlight a number of local sites, and participants will have a chance to win gift certificates to local shops.
Winterfest activities will support the Neighborhood Center.
A complete Winterfest schedule will be posted at www.townofcolton.com in early January.
