Colton-Pierrepont Central School students to present production of 'Hollywood Hillbillies' Friday and Saturday

COLTON -- Gram Hawley and her hillbilly clan are expecting relatives from “Californy” and it will not be without problems, chaos and a whole new learning experience.

Colton-Pierrepont Central School will present “Hollywood Hillbillies” on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. They are available from cast members and the high school office.

Josephine and Charlotte will be surprised by the road kill vittles and cousin Bubba’s best four legged friend.

The cast included Gram Hawley: an aged, lively mountain woman played by Emily Fecketter; Clem, a good-hearted young hillbilly played by Cole Richards; Matilda Quail, a citizen of Happy Hollow portrayed by Maura Richards and Henrietta Paxwax, a citizen performed by Claire Rousell.

Madison Cook plays Cindy Lou, a likable hillbilly gal and Gram’s granddaughter; Christopher Edwards acts as Charles Seabury, a distant relative now living in Hollywood; Alice, a runaway who is about 12 is portrayed by Kara McKinley and Josephine Seabury: Charles’ haughty wife is played by Mary Donnelly.

Other cast members include Charlotte Seabury, a spoiled daughter, played by Olivia Sneed; Bubba: Cousin Clem’s brother who hunts frogs, played by Steven Avery; Larry Houston, a young film director portrayed by Noah Rousell and Isabelle Houston, Larry’s co-worker, performed by Bethany Vaisey.

Madeline Rousell plays Sheriff Tom Applegate, Cole Richards acts as Ralph Cavett, a state engineer; Lauren Buckley has the role of Opal Edwards, a state engineer; Matilyn Lovely will perform as Miss Lennox, who runs the orphanage and Christopher Edwards will also assume the role of Jim Foxhall, a thief.

Also performing are Alexandra LaShomb as Lucy Valentine, another thief who is posing as a nurse; Samantha Robitaille as Finlandia: Charlotte’s sorority sister; Claire Rousell will play Vera, Larry’s sister, and a Hollywood agent and Madeline Rousell portrays Miss Kearns, a child welfare official.
