HEUVELTON – The Grasse River Players will produce “The Tavern” by George M. Cohan at Pickens Hall Opera House on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6 at 3 and 7 p.m.
Cohan is known as the man who composed “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and his songs will be featured in the musical entertainments at intermission.
“The Tavern” is a melodrama spoof mystery with exaggerated acting, outrageous characters, interaction with the audience who can boo and hiss. Pickens Hall will become “The Tavern,” and there will be sound effects like thunder done the old-fashioned way with sheet metal rippling.
The directors of this show are Carole Berard, Jim Wildman and Elaine Kuracina.
The cast includes Morgan Hastings, Jennifer Blewett, Michael Terrell, Julie Manders, Derrick Conway, Jason Shirtz, David Crowell, Barbara Burdick, Charles Romano, Esther Katz and Krista Freego.
