POTSDAM -- A closing reception for the Eaux D'Artifice exhibit will be held Feb. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Creative Spirit Community Arts Center.
The exhibit closes Feb. 9. It features new media art by Steven Mygind Pedersen. Pedersen uses regional oddities, such as the village of Potsdam’s toilet displays, for meditation on place, situation and individuation.
Pedersen received his bachelor’s in fine art and contemporary critical theory, from Goldsmiths College, London. He then completed a two-year study period in the School of Media Arts at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen.
Since getting his master’s in electronic integrated arts from NYSCC at Alfred University, Pedersen exhibited his work within the US and abroad. He is an assistant professor at Clarkson University in the Digital Arts and Sciences program.
